Must be physically fit, able to lift heavy items, have a great work ethic, LOVE dogs, and be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Previous work with animals (minimum 6 months) required. Driver's license and own transportation required. Must have great attention to detail and good communication skills. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, and run on un-even surfaces.

Standard First Aid/CPR is required, along with valid driver's license, and work visa if not a permanent resident of Canada.

This is a non-smoking position based out of our kennel near Exshaw. Cell phone is required. Hourly rate is $18.00, plus $1.00 per hour contract completion bonus. This position is year-round when combined with guiding in the winter.

• Provide excellent care for 170 sled dogs in our outdoor kennel. Feeding, watering, cleaning, general kennel maintenance, changing or adding straw to dog houses, levelling gravel in the yard, dog first aid and medications, weed trimming and working with owners to train puppies as well as free running and pre-season fall training of teams. Build/fix dog house, painting, assist with vehicle maintenance and preparation for winter. Gear preparation from winter to summer storage, and back for winter use. Must be able to drive an ATV, use an axe and weed trimmer, and carry heavy items.
• Train to run a team of sled dogs and guide tours during the winter months.
