NOW OPEN and Following Alberta Government COVID-19 Restrictions as of December 8, 2020.
Howling Dog Tours is taking the health and wellbeing of our team and guests very seriously and we have several precautionary measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
As we strive to stay healthy during this uncertain time, we also feel it is important to smile, laugh, and have some fun! Dog sledding is considered a low risk, outdoor activity that allows one to maintain contact with your cohort and distance from others. Have fun while you embark on the ulti-"mutt" adventure in the great outdoors!
What we’re doing
- Disinfecting high touch point areas frequently
- Social distancing during transport
- Requiring face covering in our office and in vehicles for all employees and guests
- Daily symptom-screening for all employees
- Encouraging contactless payment and booking online to minimize in person contact
- Contacting guests 1 day before tour date to ask COVID-19 screening questions. If any guests answer ‘yes’ to any of the questions they will not be able to join the tour
What we’ll ask
- Have you, or anyone in your party, been outside of the country in the last 14 days?
- Are you, or anyone in your party, displaying symptoms of COVID-19?
- Have you, or anyone in your party, been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
Checking In
- When you get here, we ask that one person from your family checks in, and sanitizes their hands upon entry
- You will be required to answer COVID-19 screening questions
- You will be assigned a driver and a vehicle for your trip to the site
- We will not offer any changing facilities to limit the spread, please come dressed in your warm winter gear.
- After checking in, we will ask guests to complete the liability waivers and wait outside or in their vehicle in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines
- Staff will assist with any rental needs (any items used will be disinfected and taken out of use for a minimum of 24 hours)
The Drive
- All vehicles will be equipped with hand sanitizer and guests will be encouraged to wear their winter gloves
- Guests will be loaded into our vehicles by their groups from back to front of their assigned vehicle, with social distancing
- Everyone is required to wear a face covering and sanitize/wear gloves while in the vehicle and along the journey from our office/your hotel to our dog sledding site
- If anyone does not have a face covering, we will provide one
- All vehicles will be disinfected and cleaned thoroughly between transports/tours
- All drivers and guests will be required to sanitize their hands each time they board and disembark from our vehicles
The Fun Part!
- Being outside at our site allows us to naturally social distance
- All riders in a sled will be limited to your group of family/friends
- Face coverings are required at all times
- Guests will be seated in the sled during the tour; it is all about the dogs! There will be plenty of dog interaction and photo opportunities!
